Frequently Asked Questions
Have a Question Not Addressed Here?
What Can I Expect in the First Session?
Your first session is a time for us to get to know you and understand what brings you in. We’ll talk through your current concerns, your background, and what you’re hoping to gain from counseling.
You’re welcome to share at your own pace—there’s no pressure to have everything figured out. Our goal is to create a comfortable, safe space where you feel heard and supported from the very beginning.
How Long Will I Be in Counseling?
The length of counseling varies from person to person and depends on your goals, needs, and circumstances. Some clients come for a short season to work through a specific issue, while others choose to stay longer for deeper growth and ongoing support.
We’ll regularly check in on your progress and adjust as needed so that counseling remains helpful and meaningful for you.
Is Counseling Confidential?
Yes, counseling is confidential. What you share in sessions will not be disclosed without your written permission, except in specific situations required by law (such as risk of harm to yourself or others, or suspected abuse).
If you ever have questions about confidentiality, your counselor will be happy to explain this in more detail so you feel fully informed and comfortable.
Do You Offer Faith-Based Counseling?
Yes, we offer faith-based counseling for those who desire it. We believe that faith can be an important part of the healing and growth process, and we are happy to integrate spiritual perspectives into sessions when it aligns with your preferences.
At the same time, we respect each client’s individual beliefs and will always meet you where you are.
Do I Have to Stay with the Same Counselor?
We believe that a strong connection with your counselor is an important part of the process. We encourage you to attend at least three sessions to get a good sense of the fit.
If after that you feel another counselor may be a better match, just let us know—we’ll gladly help you make a transition. Our goal is for you to feel comfortable, supported, and cared for.

Do You Accept Insurance?

However, we are happy to provide a superbill after each session, which you can submit to your insurance provider for possible reimbursement.
What if I Can’t Afford Your Prices?
We understand that counseling is an investment, and finances can sometimes be a concern. If needed, please reach out to your counselor to discuss possible reduced-rate options.
We want to do our best to help you access the care and support you’re seeking.
What if I Need to Cancel or Reschedule a Session?
We know that things come up and changes may need to be made to your schedule. We ask that you please either cancel or reschedule your session with your counselor at least 24 hours in advance. All sessions will be charged $65 for a no-show or a late cancellation fee if a 24 hours notice was not given. This is because your counselor saved that spot for you and would not have time to fill it with someone else.
